Musical Theatre, also known as the “Triple Threat” in the Performing Arts industry, is one of the most important genre’s for performers as it trains you to be versatile in singing, acting and dance. We are lucky enough to 2 of Australia’s best Musical Theatre performers and choreographers on our faculty, Troy Phillips and Simone Fairweather, whose credit list is pretty impressive. 

Troy Phillips

As one of Australia’s most respected choreographers and performers, Troy’s career spans more than two decades where he has specialised in musical theatre and stage performance. Hailing from Melbourne, Troy trained at the distinguished Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, Victoria’s premier school for the training of dancers and musicians.
As a choreographer, Troy’s credit list is impressive, highlights include: resident choreographer on the
Australian stage production of Hairspray, resident choreographer world premiere of King Kong Live
OnStage, Arab Games Opening Ceremony with David Atkins Enterprises, 2015 Asian Cup Opening ceremony and Choreographer & Dance Director for the Victorian State School Spectacular (2012-2014).

His extensive musical theatre performance credits include: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, My Fair Lady, Chicago, Singin’ in the Rain, Get Happy! The Musical (dance captain), We Will Rock You, The Boy From Oz Arena Spectacular with Hugh Jackman and Guys and Dolls. He performed at the 2012 Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony in Manchester.

Simon Fairweather

Simon started dancing at a young age under the guidance of Suzanne Martin, and his passion for dance led him to train full time at the Victoria College of the Arts Secondary School.

Simon began dancing professionally at Tokyo DisneySea in Mystic Rhythms before spending 4 and a half years at sea with Royal Caribbean Cruises, performing as the Dance Captain for musicals such as Hairspray, Chicago and Saturday Night Fever. Upon returning to Australia, Simon was cast as Kingsman/Ensemble Swing in the world premiere of King Kong Live OnStage and and most recently in the Australian production of Ghost The Musical.

Simon is a sought after dancer in both corporate and commercial, dancing alongside artists such as Deborah Cox, Havana Brown, Sheppard and many more. Simon’s Television credits include the AFL Grand Final with Kath & Kim, Dancing With The Stars, The AFL Footy Show Grand Final & Totally Wild.
